We are at the point now where if you are still smoking, you’ve either been living under a rock for the last few years, or you’re perhaps just not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Start by cutting down

As an addiction to cigarettes is a physical thing, it makes it a lot easier if you cut down on the amount of cigarettes you smoke before you attempt to give up. Once you have gotten down to around 5 a day or less, you should consider going all the way and quitting entirely.

Get your mind in the right place

If your attitude is not right, you are never going to give up smoking. If you want to quit smoking now, you have to want to. It’s one thing to know that you should give up, but it’s another thing to try and get the mental fortitude to go all the way and actually do it.

Don’t be afraid to rely on medical science

There are many quit smoking products & aids available on the market and many of them work very well. They range from tablets to patches to fake, electronic cigarettes. As with all things in life, it boils down to what works for you.

Breaking the habit

Once you’ve managed to stop smoking, it’s up to you to change the way you live. If you always had a cigarette with your coffee in the morning, you have to do your utmost to break that link that’s formed in your head. Only when you do that, will you be able to truly quite smoking once and for all.
